  • Educated in New Zealand from secondary school through university
  • Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Diploma of Music in Viola Performance, University of Canterbury
  • Master of Commerce in Management, University of Auckland; PhD, Victoria University of Wellington

Dr Bathurst has worked in education and taught and supervised Master's and PhD research for over 20 years. He also writes research articles for academic journals and books. Before moving into university teaching, he taught at secondary schools in New Zealand and spent several years teaching in Singapore, giving him a strong understanding of younger learners, Asian learners, and students whose first language is not English.

  • Taught at the University of Auckland, Massey University, and several New Zealand institutes of technology
  • Extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate business courses and supervising PhD students
  • Associate Editor of Corporate Governance and a Research Fellow of the New Zealand Asia Institute

Dr Chen researches corporate sustainability in international business, sustainable business strategy, paradox theory, the circular economy, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Sustainable Business, previously served on the Australasian Business Ethics Network committee, and received the Emerald Publishing 2022 Outstanding Reviewer Award.
